I learned the solar business from the inside. Then I chose the homeowner side.

I bought solar for my own house before I worked in the industry. That system is still on my roof.

My working life started in technology in 2001, including work with Iron Mountain and Apple and running IT for schools. From 2018 to 2022, I taught STEM to students in grades 1–4.

In 2022 I joined a Texas solar company. I learned system design, financing, installation and commissioning and eventually became Technical Director.

Then I started taking homeowner problem calls.

I saw recurring issues that deserved an independent set of eyes: financing costs that weren't obvious to homeowners, production estimates that didn't survive scrutiny, and systems that changed between signing and installation without the economics changing with them.

I left the industry to build SolarFCG around a simple idea: homeowners should be able to know what their documents and data actually say.
